The child and education services in Tomelilla mainly consist of 6 municipal preschools and 6 municipal primary schools. As a case officer in child and education, you will be part of a competent team where everyone supports each other to create new solutions to the current and future challenges of the school. The team has a high ceiling, which gives you good opportunities to influence the direction of development.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a case officer in child and education (BoU), you are responsible for lawful case processing and authority exercise. In this role, you make decisions by delegation and serve as a central support for the school principal, rectors, and other officials.
Your work includes preparing, processing, and making decisions on matters related to inter-municipal compensation and other issues related to the school's authority exercise. You are responsible for producing statements, responses, and decisions for the School Inspectorate, Administrative Court, and other supervisory and judicial bodies. The position also involves providing qualified oral and written advice on school law and administrative law to rectors and administrators within BoU.
As a case officer, you will drive the development, implementation, and follow-up of routines, guidelines, and governing documents for the organization. You ensure legal security, equity, and high quality in the administration's decision-making processes and contribute strategically to BoU's development work and the preparation of decision-making materials. In your work, you collaborate closely with other organizations, external authorities, and stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a university degree of at least 180 credits in a relevant field, such as public administration, law, educational science, or another education that the employer deems equivalent. You have good knowledge of school legislation and administrative law, as well as extensive documented experience in qualified case processing and authority exercise within educational activities. You are accustomed to writing legally sustainable decision-making materials, statements, and responses.
It is advantageous if you have worked in a politically governed organization, made decisions by delegation, handled supervisory matters or court processes, and if you have experience in strategic work at the administrative level. Experience from working within the School Inspectorate, another state or municipal authority, or from leading roles within educational activities such as principal or deputy principal is also valuable. Other work experience where you have had responsibility for investigation, decision-making, or collaboration between different actors is also advantageous.
The position is a strategic key function within child and education, with significant responsibility and decision-making authority. The role requires high integrity, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to make independent assessments in complex matters. We are looking for someone who is structured, proactive, and has an easy time collaborating with both colleagues and external actors.
You have a good command of the Swedish language and can read, understand, summarize, and convey information clearly and understandably, even in more complex texts.
